Who is responsible

What the contact form collects
The form on the contact page asks for your name, email address and a message, which are required, and your phone number and how you found us, which are optional. Nothing else on this website asks you for anything.
Two things are added automatically when you submit it, and we would rather tell you than have you find out: the approximate city, state and country your connection reports, which is included in the email so we know roughly where an enquiry came from, and your IP address, which is used for a moment to notice a double-submission of the same message and is not written down anywhere.
Where it goes
The form sends one email to rembrandt@rembrandtdesigns.com, a mailbox on Microsoft 365, and a copy stays in the sent folder. The reply-to is set to your address so a reply reaches you directly. That is the whole journey. There is no database, no CRM, no spreadsheet and no third-party form service.
This site is served by Cloudflare, which as the host handles the request the same way any web host does.

Hotjar
This site loads Hotjar, a product-analytics tool, on every page. It is the one thing here that is not served from this domain, and the one thing that sets cookies. It records how pages are used — pages visited, clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, screen size, browser and approximate location — and can replay that as an anonymised session. We use it to find what confuses people, and fix it.
It is not tied to your name. Hotjar suppresses all keystroke data by default and no input field on this site has been exempted, so what you type into the contact form is not captured by the recording — that information reaches us only by the email route described above. On-page numeric text and email addresses are suppressed too, and are replaced with asterisks before anything is stored.
If you would rather not be included, Hotjar honours your browser's Do Not Track setting, and you can opt out permanently at hotjar.com/policies/do-not-track. Their privacy policy is at hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy. Opting out changes nothing about how we treat you.
How long it is kept
Enquiries stay in the mailbox so we can find the thread if you call back. If you would rather it was gone, ask and we will delete it — no reason needed and no form to fill in.
If you become a customer, the information needed to run the service and meet New York State record-keeping requirements is kept for as long as the law requires. That is covered in the terms.
Payment information
Card details are entered directly with Stripe on their own checkout page. We never see, handle or store a card number. Stripe holds your billing details as the payment processor; we see the receipt, the last four digits and whether it went through.
Children
This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this page
If this ever changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
